Project Introduction
This Highway section crosses a territory of 28 municipalities in the Province of Rimini, Ancona and Pesaro, characterized by a great number of industrial, commercial and residential areas, for a length of about 154 km.
Sections:
Rimini North – Cattolica from km 116+500 to km 145+539 (Lot 1);
Cattolica – Fano  from km 145+539 to km 173+800 (Lot 2);
Fano – Senigallia  from km 173+800 to km 194+800 (Lot 3);
Senigallia – Ancona North  from km 194+800 to km 213+740 (Lot 4);
Ancona North – Ancona South  from km 213+740 to km 229+350 (Lot 5);
Ancona South – Porto Sant’Elpidio  from km 229+350 to km 271+273 (Lot 6)
The main works along the highway are the following:

  • Widening of highway surface from 23 to 32,50 m.
  • Adaptation of the infrastructure to safety standards.
  • Construction of 4 new tunnel: 464 m, 863 m, 324,50 m, 530,50 m long
  • Implementation and rehabilitation of:
    • 39 viaducts (from 30 m to 470 m of length)
    • 13 underpasses (from 12 m to 30 m of length)
    • 6 tunnels: 263 m, 907 m, 295,40 m, 286 m, 523 m, 150 m of length
  • Implementation and rehabilitation of: 79 overpasses, 102 minor underpasses (<20 m), 36 minor bridges and 347 box and pipe culverts.
  • Impact mitigation measures including, among others: environmental engineering, construction of pools for the collection and treatment of first rain water, acoustic isolation barriers, compensation plan and new plantings.
  • New Service Areas
  • New roads junctions

The connection network includes the rehabilitation options for the existing road’s connection and new parallel road.
