Project Introduction
This highway section crosses a territory of 5 municipalities (Fiano Romano, Capena, Castelnuovo di Porto, Riano and Rome) in the Province of Rome, characterized by a great number of industrial, commercial and residential areas, for a length of about 15,9 km. 3 junctions are located along the highway: the first near Fiano Romano, the second (new, with toll stations) in the town of Castelnuovo di Porto and the third (without collection station) at Settebagni resort with Salaria exit to Rome. At km 4+165 there is a Service Area (Feronia Est e Ovest). The main  works are the following:

  • Widening of highway surface from 22,5 m to 32,5 m.
  • Adaptation of the infrastructure to state of the art highway safety standards.
  • Implementation of 2 main civil works:
    • Bridge over Gramiccia river: 21,40 m. Deck: pre-stressed beam (h. 1,35 m), piers and abutments (hmax 5 m) in reinforced concrete on deep foundation;
    • Bridge over Tevere river:  160 long four spans (30-50-50-30). Deck: pre-stressed box girder (h. variable from 1,40 m to 3,50 m), piers and abutments (hmax 7,80 m) in reinforced concrete on deep foundation.
  • Re-construction of the Bridge over Salaria Road, 20 m long. Deck: pre-stressed beams (h. 0,90 m) – abutments (hmax 5,00 m) in reinforced concrete on deep foundation.
  • Implementation of 13 underpasses.
  • Implementation of 32 Box culverts and 17 pipe culverts.
  • Rehabilitation of 5 overpasses (demolition and reconstruction).
  • Introduction of acoustic insulation barriers for about 3,5 km length.
