Project Introduction

The Sub-project «Urban Roads Rehabilitation» represents one important component of a larger project named «ROMANIA-BUCHAREST URBAN INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT», which was proposed by the Bucharest Municipality, in order to improve the city infrastructures and environment. It consists of civil installation works and road rehabilitation works. The project is financed through a Loan Agreement concluded between Romania, represented by Romanian Ministry of Finance, and the European Investment Bank.
The Sub-Project involves the rehabilitation of 70 urban roads, for an estimated length of 30 km and a total cost of 34,000.000 €.
The following main objectives are identified for the Consultant’s activity:
i. Transfer of know-how and technology to the Municipality.
ii. Elaboration of a road maintenance strategy and its implementation, through a first pilot Sub-project.
iii. Implementation of a set of procedures for the project control.
iv. Supporting and advising the Project Implementation Unit of the Municipality.
v. Guaranteeing the success of the tender evaluation, in order to be in conformity with the international procurement rules
vi. Reporting, according to the Employer and EIB requirements.
