SPEA at the MEG Annual Conference

Today, SPEA’s delegation has been invited to the annual International Conference “The Voice of Engineering Consultancy in the Mediterranean” organized by the Mediterranean Engineering Group (MEG) in Rome. The Conference  is hosted by OICE (Italian Association of Engineering and Architectural companies) in partnership with ICE (Italian Trade Agency).

The Mediterranean Engineering Group is an informal multilateral partnership with a view to increasing the potential for regional integration and cohesion among Mediterranean Associations of Consulting Engineers.

Its aim is to increase, promote and develop contacts and partnership among member associations and member firms in order to improve business cooperation and exchange of knowledge among and within Mediterranean Countries. The MEG was launched in 2005 at the Rome First Summit.

MEG Members are Associations who represent engineering consulting firms as well as consulting firms themselves. Currently, MEG gathers eleven Associations/Countries of the Mediterranean area:

  • AIFE (Egypt)
  • ANBEIC (Tunisia)
  • APPC (Portugal)
  • ATCEA (Turkey)
  • FMCI (Morocco)
  • HELLASCO (Greece)
  • OICE (Italy)
  • SYNTEC (France)
  • TECNIBERIA (Spain)
  • AACE (Albania)
  • UKI BiH (Bosnia Herzegovina)

Italy holds the 2014 MEG Presidency.

During the Conference, the CEO of Spea, Ing. Antonino Galatà, has been the chairman of the “Work Session I – Transport Infrastructures (rails, airports, roads)”; in this technical panel have been involved representatives of international firms from Portugal, Morocco, Bosnia Herzegovina and Italy.
