The two multi-storey ”modules” supplement, and module “F” completes, the car parking system covered by the development plan in the central area of  Fiumicino airport, complementing the similar structures built in the 1990s along with the railway station and link.
The last infrastructure, ”MP F”, is located next to ”MP E’‘  was built in 2000 and stands on an area of about 11,000 m2 currently designated for ”street level” parking.   The two garages have most of their typological and constructive features in common.
The multi-storey “F” is divided into 6 storeys of “above ground” parking, with a footprint of 8,200 square meters and a total area of 48,800 m2.
The building has a rectangular layout of  101 m x78 m and a structural grid of 8.10 m x 16.4 m.
On the west and south sides the grid is modified with the inclusion of modules of a lesser width, equal to 11.2 meters, to adapt to the shape of the lot’s layout and to the adjacent pre-existing buildings.   The in-between floor is at 3.40 m altitude, with a total building height of 20.4 m, more or less the same as that of the adjacent ‘‘MP E”.
Each of the six garage floors has a capacity of circa 270 parking spaces, for a total of 1,620 stalls, 36 of which are located on the ground floor and are reserved for people with reduced mobility.  The parking area is also equipped with 18 electric vehicle charging stations.
The stalls measure 2.7 m in width and 5.2 m in depth.  The manoeuvre lanes measure 6 m in width and include pedestrian lanes, marked with the appropriate signage.
The parking levels can be accessed through a system of two one-way ramps of the spiral type, similar to that of garage ”E”, with an outer diameter of 10 m and an inner radius of 4.5 m.
Access to pedestrians is provided through a vertical connecting structure consisting of a fixed staircase and two elevators, located at the nearby ”tower” of the existing system of raised pedestrian walkways connecting all the garages of the central airport area and the rail station with the passenger terminals.   In addition to the main link, the project also includes four additional  staircases, serving as escape routes.
