The Government of Uganda (GoU), through the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has requested Advisory Services of IFC (International Finance Corporation) in Public Private Partnerships (C3P), to assess, as lead Transaction Advisor, the potential to develop on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis the 77 km Greenfield Expressway between Kampala and Jinja with a possible extension to include the 17 km Kampala Southern Bypass, which together with the existing Kampala Northern Bypass would form a ring road around Kampala City.
Spea has been awarded this project that has the overall objective to support UNRA in identifying and selecting a private sponsor(s) who would design, build, finance and operate the Project under a PPP agreement with the government.
The advisory services project will be implemented in 2 phases, during which the technical and traffic Consultant will provide assistance to IFC in all technical (engineering) and traffic aspects of the Project, including:
Phase 1 – Due Diligence which supports the technical prefeasibility study
Preliminary technical audit of the feasibility study and designs for the Kampala Southern Bypass;
Phase 2 (conditional on successful implementation of Phase 1)
