SPEA in joint venture awarded the contract in Madagascar for the study of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the Mananjeba bridge at km 583+650 of the National Road nr.6. The project also includes the management, control and supervision of related works. The Mananjeba bridge is a steel truss bridge composed by three spans 30+24+24,35 m, for a total length of 78,35 m.
The main objectives of the Project are :
·A: improve the effectiveness and quality of movement of goods and people.
·B: ensure the continuity of traffic on the National Road nr.6.
The project is divided into two phases:
Phase A
– Detailed inspection of the whole bridge;
– Investigation of all the main structural defects;
– Preliminary and detailed design of rehabilitation/reconstruction interventions;
– Evaluation of the bill of quantities and investments of the whole project;
– Preparation of the tender notice.
Phase B
– To ensure the management, control and supervision of rehabilitation/reconstruction works of the Mananjeba bridge;
– To manage work contracts;
– To provide assistance during the defect notification period.
