The complete Detailed Design for the three lots of the ADB-financed 42 km long Khevi-Argveta section of the E60 Highway route in Georgia was submitted by the JV IRD Engineering Srl & SPEA Engineering SpA, and tenders for construction and supervision (funded by ADB, EIB and JICA) are either announced or ongoing right now.
The new 2 carriageways 2+2 lanes highway will pass over the most mountainous area along the E60 transit corridor connecting Europe and Asia through 50 tunnels (all in all 30 km, 1.6 km the longest) and 70+ steel and PSC viaducts and bridges (18 km/1.3 km).
A team of 16 international specialists, 15+ international and 10+ local consulting companies, tens of experts and support staff were effectively involved in detailed design, geological investigations, Lidar survey, road safety enforcement, LARP and EIA according to Georgian and European standards and design and construction funders safeguard policy.
